The Grey Dog Festival seeks to normalise conversation about mental illness.

Music is often used to comunicate feelings and emotions. We all have songs that lift our mood or help us cope in tough situations. Song lyrics and music give a voice to things that peope often would not talk about in open conversation. The festival seeks to open up that conversation using music as the catalyst.

Each of the performers at the festival are chosen not just for their musical ability but also their willingness to role model healthy dialogue. They do this by talking to the audience about their own experiences with mental health.
